Summer is almost here and the US’ biggest travel insurance comparison website InsureMyTrip.com just released their data on travel trends. Not just destinations, but tourist behaviour
According to their survey, the most popular destinations for US tourists include the UK, France and Italy as their top three. Most would go to the Caribbean or Netherlands.
The highly-targeted survey restricted the respondent pool to US travellers who either researched or purchased travel insurance in the last 18 months.
According to their survey results most will go on a summer vacation.
About 82% of their respondents said they planned a summer vacation. About 12% said they didn’t have any plans as of yet.
As expected, about 42% of travellers will stay in hotels. About 25% of travelers go on a cruise. The remaining wish to stay in a vacation rental, prefer to stay with family or friends or use a timeshare instead.
Today’s travellers are also wise as they book 30 days in advance before the actual time they would depart for their vacation. This booking includes their itineraries and their return-trip tickets.
Top travel concerns include the following according to the survey:
2. Health issues before or during a trip
3. Hurricane or bad weather affecting travel plans
4. Missing a flight
5. Bad experience with food or accommodations
